ICC Dispute Resolution Services

Leading dispute resolution worldwide

The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), of which the LBC is the national committee in Lithuania, offers the highest level of a wide range of dispute resolution services to help commercial parties avoid, manage and resolve disputes effectively.

Dispute resolution services, including ICC arbitration, ensure that when disputes do arise, they are resolved quickly and efficiently.

How dispute resolution services work

To resolve disputes efficiently and effectively, businesses need a fair process and equal access to justice. Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms allow parties to resolve disputes quickly and efficiently, which is why companies include arbitration and ADR clauses in commercial contracts.

The ICC offers a wide range of dispute resolution services at every stage of a dispute, from the services provided by the ICC International Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (mediation, experts, dispute councils), to ICC arbitration, which is carried out by the world’s most trusted arbitration institution – the ICC International Court of Arbitration. The range of procedures administered by the ICC can be used individually, sequentially or even simultaneously as an alternative to litigation to resolve domestic and international disputes.

ICC arbitration is a process governed by the ICC Arbitration Rules. The ICC’s services, available worldwide, are open to everyone from individuals and private sector companies to states and public entities. The only requirement for a party to use ICC arbitration services is to agree to their use in a contract, agreement or separate arbitration agreement. This is usually agreed before a dispute arises, but can happen afterwards.

The International Court of Arbitration is the world’s leading arbitration institution. Since 1923, the ICC has been helping to resolve international commercial and investment disputes.

Unrivalled in its experience and expertise, the ICC Court and its Secretariat are always ready to assist parties and arbitral tribunals in all matters relating to the conduct of arbitration, and are committed to ensuring that ICC awards are enforced. The Court’s Secretariat, with more than 100 lawyers and support staff based in Paris, Hong Kong, New York, Singapore, São Paulo and Abu Dhabi, administers cases in any language of its choice.
